WYPR Maryland in the Morning The Strand - Theater
for the Dramatically Disillusioned
Baltimore's new Strand Theater grew out of opportunity (cheap, available space in Baltimore's Station North
Arts District) and frustration with the generic, by-the-book world of contemporary theater. The new Theater plans to
produce sharp, socially relevant plays that will appeal to a new generation of theater buffs. We'll talk with Strand
Artistic Director Jayme Kilburn about the about the chaos and confusion of do-it-yourself theater, and about their debut production,
Nonstop Realism, which is a part of the Baltimore Playwrights Festival.
Nonstop Realism, written by Tim Paggi,
runs July 17th- August 8th at the Strand Theater in Baltimore.
